I made it! Today is the last day of my photo a day challenge… I can’t believe I actually managed to take a photo for each day! I had big plans of actually putting lots of effort into todays photo, but as usual, the day got away from me and this was the best I could do. I think Riley will be relieved to be able to have a bath without Mummy hovering over him with camera in hand!
Day twenty eight
February 28, 2010Day twenty seven
February 27, 2010
Little Riley, all ready for bed. Bath? Check. PJ’s? Check. Teeth brushed? Check. Story read? Check. Acting like a crazy little jumping bean? Check.
Day twenty six
February 26, 2010
This is Plex the magic robot from Yo Gabba Gabba. He is a firm favorite in this house and always brings a smile to Riley’s little face. If you are a regular viewer of ‘Gabba’ you would know that Plex has many powers – he can stretch his arms really far, add up large numbers in his head and remember the answer and most importantly he can often entice Riley to eat something just because Plex likes it. What a handy little robot!
Day twenty five
February 25, 2010
Yes, another bath photo… I had plans for all sorts of photos today, but they just did not eventuate. My boy and I were having too much fun just hanging out together to think about the camera until bath time!
Day twenty four
February 24, 2010
He still looks so small from where I’m standing. Still looks like a baby to me… but I know he is not going to be my ‘baby’ for much longer. *sob*
Riley turns ‘the big’ two in a bit over a month. I just can’t believe it! He still seems so small, but then he does things like yells at the TV to warn the cartoon dog that a train is coming. “Watch out Doggie!!!” he yells. Or chatters excitedly to Daddy about his day when he is going to bed. “Park! Swing! Slide! Horses, grass and carrots?”
I just wish I could bottle him at this stage sometimes. Surely 22 months is the cutest age ever?
Day twenty three
February 23, 2010
Due to popular demand, we went to the park again today. Much fun was had by Riley. Mummy also got quite a workout chasing Riley from activity to activity. Riley was not too happy to be told that the firemans pole that started 2 m above the ground was not within his solo abilities, but besides that he had a ball. Leaving is another matter of course…
Such a sad little face looking longingly out the car window to the playground. All good things must come to an end.
Day twenty two
February 22, 2010
Riley spent the day following Grandpa around today. When I came to pick him up he was full of exciting tales of visits to the park, swings, slides, horses and tents! The tent was still up in the back yard and Riley was so proud to demonstrate how he had helped grandpa hammer the pegs in. Talk about a happy camper! He had such a big day! Thank you Grandpa and Nanna for making the little boys day.
Day twenty one
February 21, 2010
This is Riley chasing Mummy and Daddy around the backyard with his little push wagon. We had another hot day today. It was far too hot to walk around the block, so the wiggles were banished with a bit of a run around the yard. As you can see, he thought it quite funny to chase everyone. Cute!
Day twenty
February 20, 2010We had another hot day today. I can’t wait till we move into the lovely autumnal days ahead. In the mean time, poor little Riley needed to cool off and after playing in a bucket at Nanna and Grandpa’s house last week he decided that a bucket was the order of the afternoon! So out came the big bucket, and much fun was had by all. He just did not want to get out and ended up staying in there for nearly an hour (as evidenced by those wrinkly feet)!
Day nineteen
February 19, 2010
Today mothers group met at our place. We have an all boys mothers group (at least the first generation anyhow) so its always nice to see ‘the boys’ playing together. After breakfast I told Riley that ‘the boys’ would be coming around to play later in the morning. From then on, every noise coming from the street was met with great excitement and Riley running up the hallway yelling ‘Boys? Boys?’. Too cute. Of course once the boys were actually here and the reality of sharing toys hit, the gloss wore off slightly. I do have to say his sharing skills today were excellent – not a tear or tantrum in sight. The boys all think it appropriate to sit up at the big table to enjoy their morning snacks. This is Riley enjoying a strawberry between bites of vegie chips!
